To Increase awareness of safe manual handling of loads and to reduce the risk of occupational injury while carrying out manual handling tasks in the workplace.
To identify the skills and techniques involved in safe lifting, putting down, pushing, pulling, carrying or moving a load. To gain practice and feedback on these skills and techniques.
Due to the wide variety of manual handling tasks, it is difficult to set down a specific training course which in content or duration would be appropriate for all situations.
Any person who is involved in manual handling in the workplace and wants to learn how to conduct a personal risk assessment and move and handle loads safely.
