OVERVIEW
- This course provides the knowledge and understanding of Lifting Operations at a supervisory capacity. Upon successful completion, delegates will be able to supervise and execute a lifting operation safely and in accordance with the lifting plan.
COURSE AIM
- This course aims to equip participants with the technical knowledge and competency required to effectively execute the responsibilities of a lifting supervisor.
COURSE OBJECTIVES
By the end of this course, successful delegates will be able to:
- Outline the legal requirements and international guidance available for a lifting operation.
- Complete the calculations required in relation to loads, slings and their capacities.
- Identify the different types of cranes and their components.
- Correctly utilize duty charts and range diagrams of cranes.
- Outline the roles and responsibilities of a lifting supervisor.
- Effectively execute lifting operations in accordance with Lifting Plans.
PREREQUISITE-CANDIDATE ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA
- Good ability to read, write speak and understand English.
- Should be able to complete mathematical calculations.
- Minimum 3 years onsite experience. (Or previous basic rigging and slinging certification)
- Working knowledge of lifting operations.
- Communication, Administration and supervisory skills.
