OBJECTIVES

• This training course is aimed at nominated personnel who have responsibility for managing others in the event of a fire emergency and may also respond to incidents involving locations within the student’s own company premises. The primary responsibility is for managing the emergency response to fire and the evacuation of premises and may include other related emergencies ensuring the safety of life and reduction of damage to property and business.
• The training course will provide them with the skills to ensure their own safety and the safety of others in an emergency situation and in the event of a fire.

COURSE AIM

This training course is aimed at nominated personnel who have responsibility for managing others in the event of a fire emergency and may also respond to incidents involving locations within the student’s own company premises. The primary responsibility is for managing the emergency response to fire and the evacuation of the premise and may include other related emergencies ensuring the safety of life and reduction of damage to property and business.

The training course will provide them with the skills to ensure their own safety and the safety of others in an emergency situation and in the event of a fire.

COURSE SKILL SETS

Skill sets are based on basic training in the following subjects. Building evacuation and accounting for personnel, fire cause and effect reduction, Fire science and chemistry, evacuation, and emergency response.

COURSE STANDARDS AND OUTCOMES

• The training course standards are paralleled against a variety of standards across the UK industrial codes of practice including, General provisions of The Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 and other relevant regulations, QCS 2014. The Regulatory reform order 2005.
• Upon completion of training, all students will be expected to show competence by demonstrating all the above skill sets in a realistic simulation.
• Students failing any risk-critical outcome of the syllabus may be removed from the training course and be required to undergo a period of further training prior to re-attending.
