Basic Rigging and Slinging

Course Aim:

This course covers the functions required to undertake basic rigging to meet the minimum formal training and assessment standards for the purposes of certification through Workplace Health and Safety.

Course Objectives:

The course objective will provide participants with the knowledge to safely assist in rigging.

  • Parts and components of lifting
  • Planning
  • Inspection and certification
  • Terminologies / nomenclature
  • Components involved in a lifting operation
  • Lifting gear – illustrations and user inspections
  • Mode factors (different hitches) – hand signal, safety while lifting operation
  • Pinch points
  • Working at heights
  • Do’s and don’ts

Course Duration: Two (2) Days

Re-certification Interval: Three (3) Years

Delivery Language: English or Hindi

Target Audience: Rigger

Assessment: Written and Practical Assessment

Basic Requirements: The candidate must know basic English and Maths
